This time, I got a note from my stylist, Natalia, telling me that she had picked out a few items inspired by my Pinterest Board. I'm happy she looked at it--but Natalia? What happened to Octavio? I thought we had something going last time! The funny thing is, Natalia took too much guidance from me. She took items inspired by my board, but I'm no stylist!
First item: Melandry Tribal Detail Tab-Sleeve Blouse. I like the color and this is a nice change from what I normally wear without being totally out there. Good job, Natalia. (Where did Octavio go?) There are two problems, however. First, it has sort of a Peter Pan/Robin Hood thing going on which is really never a good idea when you're 5'2," unless you're Sandy Duncan. Second, it says DRY CLEAN ONLY. In all my excitement about my Pinterest Board, I think I forgot to tell my stylist that I have to be madly in love with an item or absolutely desperate before I dry clean anything (and even then it will take me until summer vacation to get it to a dry cleaner and back).
Also, this shirt is made of that silky type material that any teacher worth her salt knows to avoid because it will totally show armpit sweat that the students will see if you write on the board, and just thinking about that makes me hyperventilate a little bit. No, no, no. Of course, the students would also see a cool "tribal styling" line across my back while they enjoyed the stains, but no.
Fouth Item: Thisbe Colorblocked Open Draped Cardigan. Love the idea. Love the colors. Hate that it's made for someone about 2 feet taller than I am. Bonus: comes with it's own tallis. (That's a Jewish prayer shawl for men.) So close, really--but just WAY too long. (The off-white thing around my neck is the scarf, not the sweater.)
It's not you; it's me, Stitch Fix!
